 About the Society

Founded in 2007 by Dr. Gail S. Lebovic, the Society of Oncoplastic Surgery (SOS), 501(c)(3), focuses on a multidisciplinary and practical “hands-on” approach to help surgeons develop the skills to achieve optimal aesthetic outcomes at the time of cancer removal.  Since its inception, the SOS has trained over 1,000 surgeons from 45 countries, positively impacting the lives of cancer patients from around the world.

The Journal of Oncoplastic Surgery, a publication of the Society of Oncoplastic Surgery, is a peer-reviewed print + online Semiannual journal. The journal's full text is available online at http://www.oncoplasticmdjops.org. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive the final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.
 

  Scope of the journal

The journal covers clinical, technical, ethical and social issues related to the field of Oncoplastic Surgery. Articles with clinical interest and implications will be given preference.
